I'm in love with the way you paint pictures in my head with your words. The image that sticks out in my head the most is that of Jack gripping Renee's hand, as the hallucinations threaten to overwhelm him. The anchoring imagery works well and embodies an important facet of their relationsip, not just in the tiny moment you've captured here. I love his hesitancy to admit that he needs someone to care for him, that it's a comfort and how he doesn't know (or perhaps he won't let himself think about) why that is. Why she's special and why he lets her.
